WHY DIME-X?
While making our adorable FETTO LaRocca we got curious: how can this thing both sound and feel so remarkably real and good?
FETTO LaRocca was our first product based upon valve/tube technology, high voltage, 400 volts valve/tube technology to explain it correctly. And yeah boys and girls, did we know already those vacuum glass gadgets could be great for music/guitars?!

REASON
The main question in this case was: Why is FETTO LaRocca so punchy, so dynamic, so articulated, so “real” and why do not transistor/solid state solutions react/sound or feel anywhere close to tubes in about every case?
Could one of the reasons be that transistors most commonly run at 2-10% of the voltage of where tubes sound and feel as its best and this might lead to solid state solutions (transistors/op amps etc) sound and feel just 2-10% as good?
YOU SHOOK ME…
So let us treat them modern transistors the same way as old fashioned tubes were/are treated—same bad treatment for all!—let us give those silicon plastic fools the same treatment as the almighty FETTO LaRocca which was made before FETTO Apache craved to get good—let us feed them with 400 volts! At this moment very interesting things started. Is this even possible?

What a blast! Soon this our insect was developed, to get the thoughts above examined (=pre FETTO Apache ) and not long after this DIME-X showed up to be swapped into FETTO LaRocca or wherever* you might like to put it…

THAT CRAZY LIVE SITUATION
Another reason for making DIME-X was with the live musician in mind. We all know how most live musicians run around like berserk on stage, drunk or high on energy by other musically or chemical reasons. What now can happen is they fall apart, why not on the pedalboard or simply choose kick it like a real man to impress the female part of the audience! The “bad” thing here is a vacuum tube quite easily breaks, so here comes DIME-X flying in as Savior In Distress!
